Male pelvic health

Men’s Health issues can affect men at any age and can include penile, testicular and rectal pain, incontinence and sexual problems.

How does Pelvic Health Physio help?

Physiotherapy can be useful in diagnosing these problems, and then a treatment programme can be prescribed to address pain and dysfunction. You do not have to live with these symptoms.

Conditions Treated include:

  • Complex Pelvic Pain

  • Prostatitis

  • Overactive Bladder

  • Incontinence

  • Bowel Problems

  • Erectile Dysfunction

  • Ejaculatory Dysfunction

  • Pre and post prostatectomy rehabilitation

Here at The Pelvic Academy, we provide a Men’s Health Service. During an initial Men’s Health Assessment, we will ensure that we have heard and understood your full experience, no matter how complex.

The pelvic floor muscles are connected to erectile function and ejaculation, as well as continence and load transfer. The muscles can be assessed in different ways, which we can explain to you and choose a method that you feel comfortable with.

We can use a physical assessment to look for tender spots in pelvic floor muscles and sensitive areas via a rectal exam.

We can use a movement assessment to check how you are transferring load during your activities of daily living and during exercise.

Finally, we can use ultrasound imaging via your lower abdomen or perineum, to see how well the pelvic floor muscles are moving.

If you are unsure if you need treatment please speak to our specialist physiotherapists in confidence by booking in a free 15 min phone call via our website booking link.

We can help you feel more hopeful in finding a road to recovery and getting back to enjoying your life again.
