Jane Henderson MBAC

As a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a registered member of BACP, my approach combines various aspects of my training and experience. I take a holistic approach and tailor my methods to meet your individual needs best.

The focus of our sessions is not on me or my knowledge. Instead, I strive to establish a therapeutic relationship based on empathy, trust and a feeling of safety. You’ll feel truly understood, heard and valued as the unique individual you are, with all that holds significance for you.

Whatever you choose to bring to our sessions – difficult thoughts, emotions or life experiences – will explore the origins of these feelings, how they impact you and your responses to them. You will find me warm, compassionate and respectful of what you choose to share, whenever you choose to do so.

Sharing your experiences unlocks new possibilities and empowers you to choose how you want your life to be. We’ll think together about which choices are helpful, and which are not and collaborate to bring the changes you desire to fruition.

My unexpected career path as a clinical massage therapist informs and enriches my counselling practice, allowing me to understand how emotional, mental and physical pain affects various aspects of life, relationships, work and social interactions.

Contemplating new ways of being can be daunting. However, effective talking therapy is a collaborative process, and I am here to support and guide you toward positive change.

I offer an initial fifteen-minute telephone session at no cost. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, for you to feel if my approach is right, and for us to decide if we are comfortable working together to achieve your goals.

I am at the Pelvic Academy on Tuesday (evening) and Wednesday (day).

I work with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, social challenges & difficult life events, bereavement, health anxiety and pain management.
